Mixed Fruit Wine - Cairn O'Mohr

£20.97 (£6.59 per bottle)

This selection consists of Strawberry, Blackberry and Gooseberry wine: (1) Strawberry (Rose) Greeted by a gentle apricot colouring this wine does not disappoint. The nose is unashamedly fragrant with fresh strawberries. This wine doesnt just taste of strawberries, however, and you get a pleasant minerality which helps with the length. Would match well with a creamy dessert or soft cheeses. ripe brie or camembert and sweet biscuits. (2) Blackberry (Red) - This bramble wine has the colouring of a light port with an intriguing burgundy tint. A pleasant nose with the brambles giving off a rich, deep aroma, again, reminiscent of a good port. The wine itself is delicious with the complexity of the berries making for a genuinely interesting drink. Would go well with game as the density of the flavour would stand up nicely to a duck, rabbit or pheasant. (3) Gooseberry (White) - A pleasant nose although not overtly fruity. A pretty, buttery shade of yellow followed by a nice balance of acidity and dryness. It could be likened to the light prickliness of a Vinho Verde but this wine is more complex and a little heavier. It would match well with antipasti (as the acidity would balance well with richer flavours).
